First formulated by Robert Metcalfe in regard to Ethernet, Metcalfe’s law is about the effects of communication technologies and networks such as the phone, the fax, the Internet and the World Wide Web.
For example, it is most often spoken about regarding faxes: : A single fax machine is useless, but the value of every fax machine increases with the total number of fax machines in the network, because the total number of people with whom you may send and receive documents increases.
How does the REthink system apply to Metcalfe’s law? The more people using the system, the more powerful it becomes for our industry. Not only through the power of it continually improving for the entire good of an industry (since we only focus on wineries) but more importantly, through people and restuarants using it to buy. Imagine a world where it is common and understood that you can go to a wineries website to buy direct! Revolutionary - YOU BET!
