Winemaking and Web Development

The content of the site is like the grapes. Without good grapes you can’t have a great wine, and the same is true of content. If you don’t have a meaningful message, or a good product to sell you’re not going to have a successful website. So it pays to hone the content of your site, making sure that every word of text and every image is ready before harvesting the content and using it to prepare a website. We have worked hard to make sure that the content that we grow (store layouts, contact forms, programming) is the best it can be.

Next the grapes need to be crushed and stored so that the wine can begin to take on some of its characteristic structure. The website sitemap is generated, giving architectural structure to the bits of content, and a design is created to add a distinctive taste.

Now the fermentation process begins. All the pieces of content, the programming, the products, design and navigation are coded into the site. The integrator (that’s me) is like a winemaker, controlling the product to make the most of all the separate ingredients and processes. Along the way we stage a site so that account managers and clients can “taste” what we’re making to see if the elements are coming together correctly.

When all this is accomplished, the site is “bottled”, launched with its own URL label for the world to enjoy.
