Ever wanted your own blog?
Posted by Luke McCollum on June 7th, 2007It seems like everyone’s getting online and writing about something these days, and why not? There are so many benefits to writing. From a business perspective, writing can create a mood and personality for your brand, it can open up communication to your customer base, or it can reach a wide audience quite easily. From a personal perspective, writing can improve your communication, observational skills, and self-awareness. Creative writing can improve confidence and self esteem. Writing can be like exercising a rarely flexed muscle.
Blogs are a great way to get writing out there, and there excellent pieces of software around to accomplish this without needed a huge amount of technical savvy, web design skills, or money. For example Wordpress is a great tool for publishing any sort of writing on the web.
The best thing about blogs is that they are very versatile — use them to write a journal, or write your short stories and get some feedback, write about your thoughts on wine, or software. Or just use them as a place to post ridiculous images to throw around to friends. I just signed up for a blog at Wordpress, and it took me all of 2 minutes.
Give blog writing a shot! It can be a real kick.

I’m way behind on my blog reading, but you people have been posting fools lately!
Best resource I know for starting and writing a quality winery blog is to the right in the “Links” column, fifth from the bottom - Winery Website Report.
