BlogBoil

I’ve subscribed to too many blogs and RSS feeds. My inbox is filled with titles and first lines and links. Maybe I have too many interests. Maybe my personal life needs more “life”. I read most of my chosen blogs. I skim most of the RSS feeds. I participate in a few blogs too—usually with a comment that is somewhat well thought out and tinged with humor. Some blogs I read have DLD’s or “daily link dumps”. These usually link to content which will be of interest to the particular blog community. I click on many of these.

Here is Inertia’s first DLD:

Lately I’ve been especially interested in the latest “web trends”. There has been a lot of content recently centered on web 2.0. Nielsen just did a survey in the UK with “regular web users” called “Geekspeak still baffles web users.” http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/5406498.stm.

The people at Information Architects in Japan have created unique map of 2007 web trends based on the Tokyo Subway system: http://www.informationarchitects.jp/webtrends2007. Next year we expect Inertia’s web site on the map…

I found this article from Micro Persuasion compelling, as did members of our Tech team, perhaps life is a perpetual beta: http://www.micropersuasion.com/2007/06/life_is_in_perp.html.

Inertia’s Chief Style Officer, Eric Hsu, is renowned for his taste in t-shirts. One of my favorites is “They Lied…Where’s My Jetpack?”. Roboticist author Daniel Wilson explains Jetpacks, Moon colonies, teleportation and other techno wonders we all expected by now in his latest book: http://www.salon.com/books/feature/2007/05/12/jetpack/index_np.html.

Last but certainly not least, Direct sales for wine continue to boom. Tom Wark’s excellent daily wine blog “Fermentation” was prescient in his predictions for 2007: http://fermentation.typepad.com/fermentation/2006/11/2007_the_year_o.html.
